ESES Postgraduate Camp in Endocrine Surgery

Dear Colleagues, Dear Friends, Last week we had amazing four days at Alp, Blattendürren, Urnäsch, Switzerland! The ''1st ESES Postgraduate Camp in Endocrine Surgery'': Eleven young surgeons who have devodes themselves to Endocrine Surgery and willing to take the UEMS Board Exam did it perfect, under the mentorship of Thomas Clerici, Andrea Goldmann and Özer Makay. Thanks to our young ones who showed deep interest and gave positive feedback. This organization would also not be possible without the support of ESES Presidency and Education Committee. Bridging Generations

Welcome to the initiative of the Research Committee called ''BRIDGING GENERATIONS''. Herein, we want juniors to meet their doyens of Endocrine Surgery. This is carried out via short e-interviews that will be carrıed out by a volunteered fellow, known by the ESES. As followers, we value the experience, stories and advices of our doyens very much. ClubEndoSurg

Welcome to the initiative of the Research Committee called ''ClubEndoSurg''. known by the ESES. Herein, with the collaboration of the DES team, we aim to give a view to candidates of the DES exam how to dissect / evaluate a paper. This is carried out via previously presented one-hour webmeetings where we discussed a paper, selected from the compilation of the ESES Literature Search Committee. As followers, we value the presentation of the work and the discussions of the invited faculty. We are very thankful for their input to this project. History

The discussion started in 1994 besides the Annual Meeting of the German Association of Endocrine Surgeons (CAEK - discussion round under the auspices of Blackwell Publisher - “Acta Chirurgica Austriaca - European Surgery” on the necessity of a European Journal on Endocrine Surgery).

Aims

The objectives of the Society, as a non-profit organization with activities for public benefit, aim at The promotion of science through research and the advancement of knowledge and techniques in endocrine surgery. The promotion and maintenance of high standards in the clinical practice of endocrine surgery and the promotion of education and research in this field. For the implementation of these aims the Society's role includes: The organization of meetings, symposia, workshops and courses under the auspices of the Society and held by local members. The implementation of fellowships under the auspices of the Society in accredited centres of endocrine (head and neck endocrine) surgery according to the Division of Endocrine Surgery/DES within the UEMS Section of Surgery & European Board of Surgery Facilitating the publication of peer-reviewed articles on clinical and experimental endocrine surgery in an international surgical journal acting as the official organ of the Society. Maintaining contact between the individual members of the Society by appropriate means. The participation in and administration of EU projects in the field of endocrine surgery
